The approach adopted in this course is investigative. It stresses the chain of reasoning from observation and classification, through inference, verification, and prediction, to theory and generalization. The areas of study include, but are not limited to, processes of earth change, history of the earth, interpretation of geologic history, astronomy, earth’s energy budget, seasons, climate, meteorology, weathering and erosion. Laboratory exercises, activities and record keeping and extensive research are essential in this course. Regents exam. (1 Unit)
PRE-REQUISITES: Approval of Department required.
