Dear members of the Aquinas community,
It is my privilege to serve as the current Chairperson of the Aquinas HS School Board, a group of individuals appointed by the Board of Trustees of the Sparkill Dominican Congregation and charged with serving as their advisors overseeing the management of Aquinas.
The School Board members include both alumnae and friends of Aquinas who bring to their work incredible resources across a broad range of areas of professional expertise for which we are most grateful. Each of us is committed to collaborating with the excellent Administrative team, extremely talented faculty, dedicated staff, loyal Alumnae and supportive parent community to plan for a secure long-range future for Aquinas, as well as for the day-to-day needs of each of our students.
It is our goal to offer the support necessary to nurture an environment that provides our students with certain faith, belief in themselves, intellectual curiosity, a strong sense of social responsibility and a moral compass to provide guidance when the choices are challenging. These young women are our future and on behalf of all of the Board members, I welcome you to join us in accomplishing these goals.
If you are considering Aquinas for a member of your family, I urge you to take advantage of the opportunity for a visit, join us at Open House on October 6, and feel free to contact the Admissions Office at any time with your questions.
Aquinas is an outstanding school which most capably prepares our young women to fulfill its mission. However, beyond that – Aquinas is a family with nearly 100 years of history binding us together. We most sincerely welcome you to become part of the new chapters that are being written.
Dr. Mary Anne Evangelist
P.S. In accord with their Community Spirit, the Dominican Sisters of Sparkill have agreed to lease a third of its beautiful Aquinas High School Building to the newly formed Cardinal McCloskey Community Charter School students, entering Kindergarten and First Grade for 2019-20 academic year. This agreement is only temporary while extra space is available. This agreement was reached based upon the long-standing relationship our Dominican Sisters of Sparkill have with Cardinal McCloskey where over 30 Sisters have served since its inception.
