Dear Aquinas Family,
At the beginning of the 2009-10 school year, our administration, faculty, and staff are very conscious of the tremendous difference you make in our plans to carry out the mission of Aquinas High School, day by day.
This past school year was not an easy one. Our students and their families experienced the effects of the economy’s downturn, as did people everywhere. Each day brought another story of job loss, reduced family income, and consequent inability to meet tuition payments.
Nevertheless, you came through for Aquinas with the same generosity as always, our development goals were fully met, and June brought to conclusion another year of splendid academic achievement. The Class of 2009 earned college grants and scholarships in excess of $13,500,000. A hundred percent earned New York State Regents Endorsed Diplomas—73 percent with Advanced Designation.
We have now introduced the 167 members of the Class of 2013 to the hallowed halls of Aquinas, and they are off to an enthusiastic start. A summer math camp presented by the New York Hall of Science at Aquinas provided a good foundation for those who needed some extra preparation for the challenges of algebra.
The Senior Class celebrated Ring Day on Friday, September 25th. It is, as you know, a highlight of the year for the entire school.
Thank you for your vital participation in the mission of Aquinas. Your intentions held a special place in the students' petitions at the Eucharistic Liturgy of the Holy Spirit for the beginning of this academic year. May God's goodness shine in your peace and happiness, just as your goodness shines in the continuing progress of Aquinas .
Sincerely,

Sr. Margaret Ryan, O.P.
President
